thru Aug. 4 - Legally Blonde the Musical - Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, 510 Centerville Road, Lancaster, 717-898-1900. College sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend, Warner dumps her, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and follows him to Harvard Law School! Based on the hit movie, Legally Blonde the Musical is an all singing, all dancing, feel good musical comedy. The verdict? This much fun shouldn't be legal!

thru Aug. 4 - The Who's Tommy - Sharadin Bigler Theatre, 320 Cocalico Street, Ephrata Community Park, Ephrata, PA 17522, 717-733-7966. Peter Townshend of the Who's legendary rock fable completes it sweep of pop media: from recording sensation to cult film fame and now, the musical stage. Traumatized by seeing his father accidentally kill his mother's lover, little Tommy turns catatonic. Abused by his sadistic relatives and neighbors, he seeks refuge in the excitement and challenge of the arcade. Becoming an adolescent "Pinball Wizard," his sudden superstar status opens the door for his eventual salvation. The 1969 album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998.

The parents? words of wisdom come back to haunt them when the talk turns to love and life's big decisions. Funny and touching, this one will make you laugh out loud and fall in love all over again.

You'll find yourself singing along with the AMT Cast and Band as they salute the music of your favorite American iconic artists such as Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Aretha Franklin, and many others. Join us as we pay homage to the legends that helped shape the course of America's songbook. Come recall why they're American Icons - "The Greatest Hit Makers of All Time!"

Aug. 4 - Yummie's Birthday Party - Kitchen Kettle Village, Rt. 240, Intercourse, PA. 717-768-8261. Come party with Yummie, the Kitchen Kettle mascot, and all his friends at his annual birthday bash. Enjoy crafts and activities like pony rides, cookie decorating and more from 9-11am. The party gets underway at 11am when you can meet mascots from various Lancaster County attractions. Aug. 14 - Oct. 28 - Unnecessary Farce - Rainbow Dinner Theatre, Route 30 East, Box 56, Paradise, PA 17562, 800-292-4301. Snatched from today's headlines: a shocking incident, reporters are screaming and police officers used UNNECESSARY FORCE… Oops. Wait a minute; the title is UNNECESSARY FARCE! That's something entirely different! Two cops, three crooks, eight doors, go! This show is so funny it should be illegal.

Thru Sept. 3 - Show Biz Tonight - Timbers Restaurant & Dinner Theatre, 350 Timber Road, Mt. Gretna, PA, 17064, 717-964-3601. The Timbers’ creative directors have begun the pre-production of “Show Biz Tonight”. Act One pays homage to the many wonderful songs that have graced the silver screen. Act Two switches course as we head out to sea on the USS Timbers, full of zany characters that just happen to be taking the same cruise together. Get your feet wet as our cast takes you over the waves singing and dancing to their heart’s delight. Displaying music from many genre, the USS Timbers is sure to be ship shape and on course. The Timbers’ professional song and dance troupe, in from NYC, perform the original musical revue, presented in two acts. Show times: Tue - Fri 5:30, Wed & select Sat 11:30

Aug. 3 - Enclaves of Craftsmanship in the Oley Valley Bus Tour - departs Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, 750 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, 866-853-9335. Tour includes stops at Daniel Boone Homestead to see the Bertolet Saw Mill in operation, Wharton Escherick Home and Studio and a behind the scenes tour of the workshops of Ball and Ball Company, makers of reproduction historic hardware and lighting. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Aug. 3 - The Legacy of Henry Chapman Mercer Bus Tour, departs Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, 750 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, 866-853-9335. Aug. 4 - Cherish the Ladies - Mt. Gretna Playhouse, Pennsylvania and Carnegie Avenues, Mt. Gretna, PA, 17064, 717-361-1508. Back in the early 80’s, the traditional Irish music scene was pretty much a man’s game. Leave it to some good old American lasses – let by Bronx native and All-Ireland music champion Joanie Madden – to change that, with a no-holds-barred style that left even the best bands of the Emerald Isle’s old boy network jealous, and that has been leaving audiences breathless even since. 8:00 pm. Aug. 6 - Yummie’s Birthday Party - Kitchen Kettle Village, Route 340, Intercourse, PA 17534, 800-732-3538. Kids of all ages will enjoy this birthday bash for Yummie, our Village mascot. Join our overstuffed gingerbread man and all his zany friends as we celebrate a truly scrumptious day. Yummie shares his presents with kids under 10 years old.

Aug. 6 - Lititz Farmers Market - Downtown, Water Street (1/2 block off of Main Street), Lititz, PA 17543. The market features a full variety of locally produced products sold by the farmers in a festive setting. Live music, children's activities, Chef Demonstrations and a community interest table make the Market a family friendly way to spend a Saturday morning. The farmers bring fresh vegetables, fruits, baked goods, dairy, meats, eggs, jellies, flowers, plants and much more. Shoppers can leave the Market with everything needed for a special Saturday night dinner or just a week of delicious food. 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Aug. 6 - Leon Redbone and Comedian Jack Swersie - Mt. Gretna Playhouse, Pennsylvania and Carnegie Avenues, Mt. Gretna, PA, 17064, 717-361-1508. Even if he weren’t one of this planet’s great artists, new-time old-time vaudevillian Leon Redbone would be a living legend for the simple lack of information, and the sheer amount of rumor circulating about him. 8:00 pm. Preservation, historic and traditional building trades demonstrations and children's learning activities, free and open to the public, as part of a larger multi-day conference. 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Aug. 6 - Firemen's Swine & Splash - Leola Community Pool, 23 East Main St, Leola, PA 17540. Noon - 10:00 PM Event includes Cardboard boat race, pool party, games, all you can eat pig roast (5:00 - 7:00 pm), DJ, and more! Benefitting the Upper Leacock Fire Company.

Aug. 6 - Music in the Vineyards - Nissley Vineyards & Winery Estate, 140 Vintage Drive, Bainbridge, PA 17502, 717-426-3514 or 800-522-2387. Open-air lawn concerts are held every Saturday evening on the lawn of the Nissley Winery through Labor Day Weekend, from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm. (Minors are not admitted.)

Aug. 9 - Oct. 29 - John Loves Mary - Rainbow Dinner Theatre, Route 30 East, Box 56, Paradise, PA 17562, 800-292-4301. Step back to 1945. The war is over, John loves Mary and has a ring to prove it. However, John has wed his buddy's English girlfriend while overseas. As a war bride she can enter the U.S., get a quickie divorce and get hitched to John's best friend. What could possibly go wrong? Aug. 12 - 2nd Friday in Lititz - Downtown, Main & Broad Streets, Lititz, PA 17543. Shops, restaurants, and galleries will be open on Main and Broad streets as musicians, dancers, artists and entertainers will dot the sidewalks, porches, and businesses throughout the downtown streets. 5:00 - 9:00 pm.

Aug. 13 - Traditional Dinner & Murder Mystery Train - Strasburg Rail Road, Route 741, Strasburg, PA, 717-687-7522. Show business can be murder, especially clawing your way to the top. From the mind of author Madilyn Yuengel comes an intriguing and new murder mystery about manipulation, lies and deceit ... and that's just the back story of this murder!

Aug. 13 - 34th Annual Lititz Rotary Craft Show - Lititz, PA 17543. Main Street AND Broad Street in downtown Lititz will be closed to traffic to allow the streets to become a huge arts and crafts show and streets festival with lots of vendors. Vendors will also be set up in Lititz Springs Park.

Aug.13 - 2nd Saturday Of The Month Flea Market - Roots Country Market & Auction, 705 Graystone Road, Manheim, PA 17545, 717-898-7811. 7:00 am - 2:00 pm. Antiques, Fenton Glass, Collectible Toys, Yard Sale Treasures and More...

Aug. 13 - Dream Ride Project Bicycling Event (Nightmare Tour) - Stoudtburg Village, Adamstown, PA, 19501. This bicycle race is considered to be the most difficult single day bike event in the country. Starting in Marietta, Pa., the riders travel south to the Maryland state line before heading north again. By the time they reach Stoudtburg Village the bikers will have travelled about 100 miles. Come out to encourage them along as they stop in the village for lunch.

Aug. 19 - Wine Tasting - Strasburg Rail Road, Route 741, Strasburg, PA, 717-687-7522. Strasburg Rail Road is hosting a special wine tasting aboard the train. Relax and enjoy several wine selections, a presentation by a wine educator and a 45-minute train ride.

Aug. 20 - 21 - The Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show - Mt. Gretna, PA, 17064, 717-964-3270. Some liken it to "Brigadoon," the mythical town that reawakens once every hundred years. But in Mount Gretna, it is an annual miracle. Every year, during the third weekend of August, this community of some 700 homes and cottages suddenly springs to life, welcoming 285 artists chosen through juried competition and 20,000 visitors who—by their presence—acknowledge the role that art plays in their homes, hearts, and lives. Other activities include: Live Music, Strolling Performers, Kids' Art Show and Food Court. Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This family fun event will showcase some of Manheim's best restaurants and their signature dishes! This event will also feature the family friendly movie on a screen that is THREE STORIES TALL!!! Aug. 25 - The New Christy Minstrels - Mt. Gretna Playhouse, Pennsylvania and Carnegie Avenues, Mt. Gretna, PA, 17064, 717-361-1508. More than a few groups who’ve appeared on our stage have been invited to the White House. Only the New Christy Minstrels were invited by JFK. That pretty much means two things: 1) Jack Kennedy had good musical taste; and 2) We’ve got a bona fide legend on our stage. But then you probably knew that, as this is the group that recorded hits like Green, Green, This Land is Your Land, and Chim Chim Cher-ee, the group which has won Grammys, been nominated for Oscars, and even had their own show on network TV, the group that launched the careers of folks like Kenny Rogers and John Denver, the group that’s been entertaining and inspiring audiences since… well, since the president was named Kennedy. 8:00 pm. Aug. 27 - 20th Annual Microfest - Stoudt's Black Angus, 2800 N.Reading Road, Adamstown, PA. 19501, 717-484-4386. Located in the Bier Garden. Featuring 14 plus of the Finest micro-breweries in the United States. Tickets avaiable @ $35.00 per session. Must be at least 21 years old to attend. A souvenir tasting glass, unlimited samplings, buffet featuring chef specialities and live music by The Daisy Jug Band. 12:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 11:00 pm. Four hours of drinking, eating and socializing with fellow beer enthuiast.

All of these just hint at the energy and the artistry of Barrage, a group that the Denver Post called “too Wow for words!” Barrage’s latest show, High Strung, is a diverse, family friendly fusion of classical, Celtic, Latin, bluegrass, blues, rock and jazz, all presented with enough youthful oomph, theatricality, choreography and musical virtuosity to take your breath away.
