Thru Aug. 7 - The King and I - Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, 510 Centerville Road, Lancaster, 717-898-1900. The moving story of a determined English school-teacher and the powerful king of Siam. Set against the exotic background, the timeless Rodgers and Hammerstein musical features the songs I Whistle a Happy Tune, Shall We Dance? and Getting to Know You.

Thru Aug. 21 - Amish Vows In Paradise - Freedom Chapel Dinner Theatre,15 North Bridge Street, P.O. Box 63, Christiana, PA 17509, 610-593-7013. You are invited to the wedding of Rachel and Jacob. The King family will warm your heart. You literally, will feel like you are peeking into the window of their Amish home and are privileged to hear what is happening. Share the families humor, joy and sorrow. Amish prayers and chants included in the Amish Wedding ceremony. This show traveled to Madrid, Spain in 2007 and Canada in 2008 for 21 sold out shows.

Thru Nov. 21 - Making Scents: The Art and Passion of Fragrance - Longwood Gardens, US Route 1, Kennett Square, PA 19348, 610-388-1000. Aug. 7 - Lancaster County Beer and Pretzel Tour - Lancaster County Tours, 888-999-4479 or 888-824-3763. Did you know that Lancaster used to be known as the Little Munich of America? Or that 75% of America's pretzels are made within 100 miles of Lancaster? We'll explore three local breweries, learn the history of Lancaster's beer industry and watch as two local pretzel factories show us how to do the twist. We end the day with a multi-course gourmet dinner paired with…..you guessed it…..beer! $150/person. Hosted by The Artist's Inn and Harvest Moon B&B.

Aug. 10 - Oct. 30 - The Busy Body - Rainbow Dinner Theatre, Route 30 East, Box 56, Paradise, PA 17562, 800-292-4301. When the office cleaning lady who knows everyone’s business discovers a dead body who isn’t really dead, it’s time to call 911. This is a mystery with plenty of twists & turns and one very worn out detective who is trying to straighten it all out. Amid laughter & thrills Mrs. Piper & Detective Baxter get to the bottom of the case. Join us for a murder mystery comedy that would make Agatha Christie stand up and cheer!

See the man who called himself a "Yankee Doodle Dandy" in this tap-dancing, stars and stripes salute to America and Broadway. George M! pays tribute to George M. Cohan who wrote You're A Grand Old Flag, Give My Regards to Broadway, Over There, Mary and more.

It’s a concert experience like none other, as the AMT Band and singers take on the biggest album of all time – in its entirety! Aug. 21 - 22 - Aviation Fair - Smoketown Airport, 311 Airport Drive
Smoketown, PA 17576. Aviation fair offers fun family activities. Come see flight demonstrations, seminars, interactive exhibits, face painting, a bounce house, balloons, and lots of great food! Activities for children, teens and adults. Free Admission and parking for the event. Fair activities to start on Saturday from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 - 6:00 pm.

Aug. 22 - An Afternoon Tea, Steeped in History: New Oxford Area Historical Society - First Lutheran Church, 200 Lincoln Way East, New Oxford at 2:30pm. Served on antique china, the four course tea is sure to satisfy your appetite as well as your taste for history. A program about the intricate art of Victorian Hair Jewelry will be presented by Lucy Cadwallader, including a demonstration. Cost is $20. Seating is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
