Thru Nov. 13 - Church Basement Ladies - Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, 510 Centerville Road, Lancaster, 717-898-1900. The recipe for laughter that you've been waiting for! The regional premiere of the hilarious musical that played in Minneapolis for two years has arrived in Lancaster. Church Basement Ladies celebrates the women who work tirelessly in the church kitchens to keep stomach fill and coffee brewing fror every important event from weddings to pot luck suppers. See where the heart and soul of the church is!

Thru Nov. 21 - Making Scents: The Art and Passion of Fragrance - Longwood Gardens, US Route 1, Kennett Square, PA 19348, 610-388-1000. Longwood Gardens takes you inside the unmapped universe of scent with Making Scents: The Art and Passion of Fragrance, an interactive exhibition that explores the art, science and mystery of fragrance. Make your own fragrance and take home a personalized scent card. Engage your senses in this magical exhibition as you see, touch and smell Longwood’s fragrant world.

Thru Dec. 23 - Amish Family Christmas - Freedom Chapel Dinner Theatre,15 North Bridge Street, P.O. Box 63, Christiana, PA 17509, 610-593-7013. Returning for its third season! Introducing a new song, "Precious Angels" in memory of the victims of the Nickel Mines Amish School. Rachel and Jacob are expecting their first child near Christmas and many changes have occurred in the family. What new surprises are in store for the King family? What heartache have Amos and Sadie been hiding?

Scrooges beware… we’ve got an all-new Christmas revue just for you! Featuring spectacular sounds of the season and plenty of yuletide fun, there won’t be any “Bah, Humbugs” at AMT this year! Experience the Central PA tradition that’s a musical gift for the entire family. Make this a holiday to remember at AMT, where Christmas is alive!

Nov. 6 - Wine & Cheese Train - Strasburg Rail Road, Route 741, Strasburg, PA (GPS: 301 Gap Road, Ronks, PA 17572), 717-687-8421. The $35 fare includes First-Class accommodations on the Parlor Car and complimentary wine, cheese and crackers. Beer, mixed drinks, premium wines, non-alcoholic hot and cold beverages are also available for purchase. 6:00 pm.

Nov. 6 - 7 - Trains & Troops - Strasburg Rail Road, Route 741, Strasburg, PA (GPS: 301 Gap Road, Ronks, PA 17572), 717-687-8421. In addition to our regular train, we're running special trains on the half hour. Ride with re-enactors from all eras of the military. Part of the Veterans Day celebration at Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

Nov. 9 - Dec. 30 - Pool's Paradise - Rainbow Dinner Theatre, Route 30 East, Box 56, Paradise, PA 17562, 800-292-4301. A tiny English church is desperate for money at Christmas time and the vicar is against gambling - luckily, his wife is not. To help out, the entire village secretly bets on the national soccer pool and one of the tickets is a winner! What happens when that winning ticket is lost and the vicar’s wife must find it before her husband, or her uncle the Bishop, finish their Christmas dinner? Nov. 13 - Lancaster County Cheese and Wine Tour - Lancaster County Tours, 888-999-4479 or 888-824-3763. Whether we are sampling cheeses made from goat, sheep or cow's milk - you won't know until we drive into the farm. These are small family businesses that often don't even have a sign - we've twisted their arm into conducting a tour/tasting. Our wine tours have taken us to nearby Chester and Berks Counties and all over Lancaster, which is fast becoming known for its wines. We travel the back roads and end the day with a multi-course wine-tasting gourmet dinner. We are in our fourth year of tours. $150/person. Hosted by The Artist's Inn and Harvest Moon B&B.

Nov. 18 - Dec. 31 - White Christmas - Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, 510 Centerville Road, Lancaster, 717-898-1900. Back by popular demand! Based on the beloved holiday film which starred Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney. The memorable Irving Berlin score includes Blue Skies, The Best Things Happen While Your Dancin', Sisters, Count Your Blessings, and the perennial favorite, White Christmas.

Nov. 19 - 21 - Day Out With Thomas™ - Strasburg Rail Road, Route 741, Strasburg, PA (GPS: 301 Gap Road, Ronks, PA 17572), 717-687-8421. Join Thomas the Tank Engine™, a full-sized operating steam locomotive, as he greets friends of all ages. Ride a train pulled by Thomas and meet Sir Topham Hatt™. You'll find lots of other exciting activities, and a complete selection of Thomas merchandise in our gift shop.

Nov. 25 - Thanksgiving

Nov. 26 - Old Fashioned Christmas Friday Nights - Kitchen Kettle Village, Route 340, Intercourse, PA 17534, 800-732-3538. Come enjoy the spirit of the season with “no mess, no fuss” cookie baking, holiday entertaining demonstrations, smore making, roaming musicians and oodles of specialty shopping. Experience Christmas with Mrs. Claus & Yummie beginning at 6:30pm. Families can enjoy a holiday feast at The Kling House Restaurant (includes family style dining, storytelling with Mrs. Claus & Yummie and a special gift for children). Advance reservations are required.

Nov. 26 - 28 - Santa's Paradise Express - Strasburg Rail Road, Route 741, Strasburg, PA (GPS: 301 Gap Road, Ronks, PA 17572), 717-687-8421. Recapture the magic of the holiday season. Potbelly stoves gently warm the passenger cars as you travel with Santa. Sing along with our live musicians at the station. If you listen carefully, you may even hear the sounds of ringing bells.

Nov. 27 - Holly Days - Kitchen Kettle Village, Route 340, Intercourse, PA 17534, 800-732-3538. Come join us as we deck the hall, streets and shops with natural greens, berries, and colorful ribbons. Join us in down-home caroling. Pass brass bands on corners as you dash from one shop to another. We have cookies to treat you. And shopkeepers to greet you. With music boxes, wooden toys, and things to delight you. Come start off the holidays at Kitchen Kettle Village - a great place to come home to each year. New this year...the "Hershey Chocolate S'more Area."
